Thiophene is met in natural oil. It is removed during gasoline desulfurization process.
The content of sulfur-containing compounds in fuels should be kept to minimum in order to avoid pollution of environment with toxic SO2 and SO3 that are generated in internal combustion engines.
The structure of this molecule was optimized with PM7 method that produces excellent structures for organic compounds.
